DEDICATE YOUR LIFE FOR A 'CAUSE'

Wow.. it is really early in the morning and I am up!!! 6:23AM. Nice.. Well there is a reason I'm up this early, I've got something mighty to share :)

Seconds from writing this blog, I had just gotten up from a dream. It was one of the most powerful and impactful dreams I've had in a long time, it reminded me of why I do what I do and why I'm here. In this dream, I had given my life and dedicate my entire life for a "Cause." So you may ask, what is that? Well I'm about to rock your world, with this most powerful discovery and revelation.

Many, if not all of the worlds greatest people are those who at some point in their lives, made an important decision to not live for selfish reasons or to follow greeds path and just simply live for their own, but rather they made the choice to lay down selfish ambitions and dedicated their lives for the impact of nations; they gave their lives (while still living of course) for a cause. They surrendered the selfish desires in them and traded them for love for all man kind, and sought to in their own endeavors advocate for the upliftment of the world.

Timely examples include Nelson Mandella (the freedom of South Africa), Bill Gates (global distribution of personal computers), Bussa (freedom of Barbados from Slavery), Obama (injection of hope into the world), Michael Faraday(discovery of electricity) and there are many countless others. Now everyone understandably will not make some major global discovery but we all have our part to play in changing the world, one person at a time!

What is the cause that you have dedicated your life to? Or have you just decided to live for living sake and do nothing meaningful with your life? Who are the people that you are going to relate with daily and make a difference in their lives and in every generation down their lineage? If we really want to see change we have got to become the change we seek! Global change will not be achieved until we decide to change ourselves first. It is all fine and dandy to want a big house and expensive car and lots of jewelery, gosh I want that too, but its even more of such a blessing when you can still achieve that and all at the same time be the pioneer or the forefront advocate for a critical cause.

Maybe that cause is to advance technology all around the world, or to reduce the mortality rate of Africa, or to eradicate poverty in your neighborhood, or to increase the beauty awareness of women all around the world, or prolong the happiness of strangers through kindness and mercy... what ever it is, once its for the global good (and can be credited to be such) live your life for it. Your heart longs for that and it needs that rush of excitement and thrill, for that is only when you begin to live life!!

You don't gotta be famous, you don't gotta touch 1 million people in one instance but you can sure change a life with a smile. :) It's time we do social good, the world needs us, our families and friends needs us. I lift my hand in acceptance of the call of God on my life. I am for social good. Lets rally ourselves to live a life of dedication, and fervent advocacy for a social good.

Dedicate your life for a 'Cause.'

STOP!!!!

BUSY... BUSY BUSY BUSY...................BUSY.............. GO GO GO GO.. GO ..... GO GO......

Hmm sounds familiar??? Well thats how some of us are... we never STOP! Have you ever stood up and just watch people, especially those going onto work? They are rushing and pushing, and trying to not miss the bus or they are driving in their cars and they are stuck in traffic and because they can't move at the speed they want they become anxious and discomforted and the roaring dragon comes out and they.. 'honk' the horn and begin to curse "you move your !@##%% car" ( lol ) and become all sweaty, they heart races.... boom Boom BOom BOOM.. (lol) and then when they arive at work, guess what? They ain't no use to anyone. But soon after that, they are at it again.. Work Work Work.. GO GO GO!!!

Hmmm STOP!!!

This continuous cycle of constantly being on the move is soooo not good for the health. When was the last time you actually stopped and stood up and realised what was around you? Bet you didnt realise that bird singing in the tree along that path you walk every morning? Bet you didnt realise that sweet old lady sitting in her veranda next to the road you take each morning? Oops watch out!!!! A Child is crossing the road. Hmmm. People we need to stop! for a moment.

Meditation and reflection are two practises which I do daily and I mean daily. These two techniques help me to stop, think, reflect and take in the beauty that is around me. I would often when on a bus or in any moving vehicle simply just admire what's around me (I'm not the driver ofcourse) and as I do that I begin to develop an appreciation for creation, the trees, the sky and especially for people. Could you rememeber when you really took a deeeep breadth of air?? Uh? I mean a real one, I don't mean one when you are tired and fagged out due to your ongoing cycle of rushing. I mean a deep breadth taken during your time of simply stopping. You have got to try it, air never smelt so good, nature never felt so comforting and people were never so warm. Ahhhh :)

Today for a moment or two I just want you to STOP! Forget for about 5 minutes what you have to do (or think you have to do) I'm sure the world will move on without you. And just relax, rest, listen to your heart beat.. yes you are still alive?? I bet you've missed that heart beat. Listen to the birds, the wind blowing through the trees, look at the sky blue sky or even at the grey. Relax, be at peace, rest... STOP!

You do this everyday and stress will erode away. I am so serious. The earth was created for much more than just to be used in our stressful erroneous activities. It was also made to give us pleasure, and to admire it's beauty. Sadly sometimes people only realise the earth when there is a natural disaster. It's sad the earth would have to use such tactics to get your attention. I'm sure if we were more aware of the earth, then we'd realise alot of that is going on with it much sooner.

STOP! RELAX! BE AT PEACE!

SELF HONESTY

Today (thank God) was one of those days I enjoyed waking up. Normally I'd wake up to some commotion going on or I'd just not feel like waking up, but today I had a sense of excitement and thrill about carrying out my scheduled tasks. But then something happened....

I looked in the mirror... :S

For many people (unless you are divinely gorgeous) your 'morning face' as they put it, isn't the best thing to look at lol. I actually kind of scared myself a bit and if I didn't know better I would have had to ask "who is this?" Now stick with me here I'm going somewhere with this. Honestly I would rather look at myself and see my 'morning face' than to have a stranger see it and go tell people about it or worst yet, take a photo of it. :-o

So my question to us today (yes including myself) is: How closely do we really look at ourselves in the mirror? When is the last time that we were truely honest with ourselves? (I know that was more than one question) But have you ever seen a baby and at first sight you knew it was ugly (honestly speaking) and the mother is like "O my baby is so pretty, she looks like her dad" (lol, that's probaly why she said she looks like her dad) Have you ever seen that? Now in those cases it is understadable to say the child is pretty but we as adults say that about ourselves sometimes when we know down right that our lives are uglyyy and I mean hideous!!

One of the things we need to keep daily, is a constant awareness of who we really "are" and not necessarily who we "want" to be! It's all good and dandy to think of the future but you will not get there unless you know where you are at present!!!! So I've got a little experiment for us:

  1. Get a mirror or stand in front of one
  2. Look at yourself, follow the curvature of your face, see your facial marks etc.
  3. Take a good look at who you really are and what you really look like
  4. Now think of your life and ask yourself 'who am I?' each time you do
  5. Think of your attitude, relationships, talents, and all the areas you could think off.
  6. At this point accept what "is" This is not the place to condemn or praise yourself but the place to take mental note of who you are.
After completing this exercise I"m sure you are now in a greater realization of yourself. As God would say, judge yourself before He has to or someone else does.

And, YES, I've done this and many times. It has helped me alot! Getting to know who you are, what you do and accepting what "is" will help you on your quest to moving on from glory to glory.

Ahhh.. so this is my two cents for today. Hope it was interesting enough to read and try out. :)

KEEP MOVING ON!!!

Imagine with me for a second......

We're on this long journey to a place that we've only heard about. We do not know what it really looks like, but all we have is a hunch. At the beginning of our journey all we had were hopes, we were full of faith, vigor and ready to tackle any battle, but then something happened. Maybe we took a wrong turn or in fact we took the right turn and ended up in a place we didn't know we'd have to go through.

This is life. All we really know is the beginning and the end. But the middle is never shared with us. And so somehow we find ourselves stuck in the middle or so we think we are. Maybe we're actually moving but not opening our selves enough to see that we are. Sometimes we're so focused on the things that aren't right and on the things we wanted that we lost. However, what about a re-adjustment of focus?

If we are going to succeed in the "middle" of the journey, this is what it will take. I'm in the middle, well more like in the beginning of the middle but so are you. No one is going to take off our feet and walk for us. We gotta do it ourselves. No point in fussing or arguing or getting depressed, cause when we're through being childish, guess what? we're still in the same place!!! or worst yet further behind... Get yourself together. I'm ah get myself together. Pull your emotions one side and say "look here boy, we gotta do this and we doing this, now march!" Don't get stuck in the middle. It's so much better at the end. :)

They say life is about the journey and I can agree. But I believe in both: the journey and the 'end' because at the end of every journey is a new beginning and then we continue.

So.. this is my thought for today, just something I was thinking about. How about you, what do you have to say?
